Camptonville Community Center Renovations

Ren-
ova-
tions

OUR VISION

FOR A RENOVATED COMMUNITY CENTER:

External architecture will be designed to reconnect us to our Gold Rush era heritage, with the building front and covered porch reminiscent of the historic Hotel Francis that burned down in the 1961 fire.

A long-awaited Camptonville History Museum will be created within the lobby’s entrance to highlight the colorful history of our area and that of Bullards Bar Reservoir.

A spacious Community Room will create a gathering place for events, and a modernized warming kitchen will enable meals and refreshments to be served.

A new Performing Arts Hall will offer a venue for a multitude of cultural, musical, artistic, recreational, and educational events.

OUTCOMES

OF A SUCCESSFUL CAPITAL CAMPAIGN WILL:

Enable us to rehabilitate our 65 year old building, with repairs & upgrades for safety, improved access & exit, more convenient usage, & improved operating efficiency.

The Performing Arts Hall will have a permanent LED stage lighting system, theater system, ADA  re exits, and a Green Room.

A secure space for housing the Camptonville Historical Museum will be created.

Areas with dry rot will be repaired with new materials.

Two unisex bathrooms and the warming kitchen will be remodeled and brought up to code and ADA access.

Fire safety codes will be met.

Additional spaces for storage and meetings will be built.

Camptonville Community Center Elevation

Camptonville’s historic Hotel Francis was the inspiration for the new exterior design of the Community Center. Hotel Francis was built in 1913 and burned down in 1961.

The Camptonville Community Center as it is in 2017. This former Masonic Lodge was built in 1948 to replace the original 1854 wooden structure that burnt down in 1947.
